General rental information

Required documents

The renter and all authorized drivers must hold a full and valid driver's license for at least two years and present it at the same time as an identity card or passport when collecting the vehicle. In addition, the following
apply depending on the country of issue of the driver's license:

EU driving licences
Valid driving licenses from all EU countries are accepted.

All Other Driving Licenses
Driving licenses printed in non-Latin alphabet
(Arabic, Japanese and Cyrillic) must be accompanied by a valid international driver's license.

The driving license from countries outside the European Union must be accompanied by an international driving license.

Age restrictions

There are certain minimum age and driver's license regulations that may apply during the booking process depending on the vehicle category. The minimum age for each driver is 21 years (after holding a driver's license
 for at least 2 years). It is possible to deviate from the minimum age depending on the vehicle.

In Greece, the following rules apply to the minimum age and possession of a driving license:

An additional charge applies to young drivers under the age of 23.

Pricing policy information

Generally

All credit cards from internationally recognized credit card companies – such as American Express, Eurocard / Mastercard, Diners Club, Visa and debit cards (Visa Electron, Mastercard) and third party credit cards or prepaid cards are accepted
as payment methods. The payment method must be issued in the driver's name. This must be presented at the time of vehicle collection and valid at the time of rental.

Please note that credit card payments may require the credit card PIN.

Upon receipt, an advance payment (pre-authorization) for the chosen payment method as a guarantee. The exact amount of the bond depends on the vehicle.

The tenant can pay for the security deposit by debit card or cash upon agreement with the company.

Special rental information when booking -Prepaid bookings.

Prepaid – Pay now

When booking on a pre-paid booking, payment will be charged together with the total rental price (including surcharges and fees) prior to the rental. The driver and the payment method are finalized at the time of booking and cannot be changed without the agreement of the company.

Refunds are not made for non-receipt of the vehicle, late collection or earlier return of the vehicle.

Change reservation.

The booking can be changed up to 48 hours before the start of the rental (subject to availability) Payment already made for the rental will not be refunded, nor will any amount be refunded if this change results in a lower rental cost.

Annulment

The reservation can be canceled 48 hours before the rental starts. In the event of cancellation, the advance payment already made towards the rental will be refunded subject to a cancellation fee which will be withheld and will be the amount of the rental for a minimum of 3 rental days (including any additional charges), except for non-refundable offers . Non-appearance

In the event that the rental vehicle is not collected or is not collected at the agreed time, the rental cost already paid will be withheld in full.

During the rental 

Rental extension

The extension of the rental is possible with prior communication with the company and depends on availability.

Extension of rental to calls with a cash guarantee without the presence of the customer, they are not possible unless an electronic payment is made.

Premature return

If the vehicle is returned earlier than the agreed date of the reservation the customer does not receive any refund.

Delayed return

In case the rental vehicle is not returned on the agreed day and time of the rental without prior notification from the customer, the rental becomes invalid.

The delay in no case means an implied extension. Additional fees and charges may apply.

Vehicle insurance

Civil Liability (TI)

The rental vehicle protection cover includes liability to third parties with a maximum coverage of EUR 1,220,000.00 for material damage and EUR 1,220,000.00 for bodily injury. All Rentour vehicles are additionally insured and fire insured. Glass and mirrors are excluded.

Excluded from the protection is the use of the vehicle for the transport of dangerous goods. All protection as part of the rental agreement will become void, in particular if an unauthorized driver has used the vehicle or if the driver of the vehicle does not have the required driving license at the time of the accident.

Mixed with exemption (CDW)

Mixed with exemption limits the liability of drivers to an amount in the event of an accident, provided that the traffic code is not violated (eg breaking a red light or STOP, illegal overtaking, driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, etc. ).

If the CDW is accepted, the customer is only responsible for the amount of the waiver.

Mixed with reduced or zero discharge (SCDW) – (FDW) 

If CDW is already included in the rental, the renter can choose SCDW to reduce or FDW to eliminate liability in the event of an accident, provided that no traffic code is violated (eg running a red light or STOP, illegal overtaking, driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, etc.).

The underbody, interior of the car, mirrors, windows and tires are excluded from CDW or SCDW insurance. Such insurance can be purchased over the counter.

Theft Protection (TP)

Theft insurance limits the liability of drivers to a part of the vehicle in the event of theft to the amount of the exemption.

Cross-border leases and territorial restrictions

Driving the rental vehicle outside of Greece is not allowed.

Transportation by ship to the Greek islands is only permitted with the prior written approval of Rentour

In case of violation of the cross-border and territorial restrictions, all insurances lose their validity and the lease becomes void.

Extras are available without obligation and subject to availability.

Navigation system

Navigation systems are available for a fee.

Extra guide

For the additional driver there is a charge, His details are listed on the rental book only if the additional driver presents a valid driver's license

Child and infant seats

Child, infant and booster seats are available for a fee.

Vehicle refueling

All vehicles are delivered with a full tank of fuel and must be refilled prior to return, otherwise the current prices per liter of petrol or diesel and an additional refueling fee will be charged.

Note: Fuel calculation values may be higher than current prices at the gas station.

Delivery and collection

Drop-offs and collections are available at your local rental station free of charge.

For drop off/pick up from/to hotels please contact the rental station.

This service is available upon request for an additional fee in select locations.

Winter equipment.

Snow chains are available for a fee.

Other fees and charges

Except operating hours

Out of hours service is available at selected stations. In this case, an additional fee applies for the provision of the service.

Accident management fee

An accident handling fee applies in the event of damage.

Fines management fee

The renter is responsible for paying all fines incurred during the rental.

In the event that the tenant does not pay the fine and Rentour intervenes in the process, an administration fee will be applied in addition to the cost of the fine.

Removing signs

In case of removal of license plates due to a traffic violation, the renter will be charged for the non-use of the vehicle.

Loss of keys

A key loss fee applies depending on the vehicle category.

Vehicle bodywork

In the event that the car requires a special cleaning procedure (eg deodorization, animal fouling, liquid spillage, etc.) upon return, a cleaning fee will apply.

VAT

The value added tax is 24% in Greece and is included in the prices.
