General Rental Information

Important documents

The renter and all approved drivers must be in possession of a full, valid driving license for at least two years and present it together with an identity card or passport while picking up the vehicle. Furthermore, the following
conditions apply depending on the issuing country of the driving license.

EU driving licenses
Valid driving licenses of all EU countries are accepted.

All other driving licenses
Driving Licences printed with non-Roman Alphabet
(Arabic, Japanese, and Cyrillic) must be accompanied by a valid International Driving Permit.

Drivers license from countries outside of the European Union must be complemented by an international drivers license.

Age restrictions

Certain regulations apply related to minimum age and possession of drivers license which can be found during the booking process depending on the booked vehicle. Basically, the minimum age for every driver is 21 years (having held the driving license
for at least 2 years). A deviation from the minimum age is possible depending on the vehicle.

In Greece, the following rules apply for the minimum age and possession of a drivers license:

A surcharge applies for young drivers under 23 years.

Tariff information

General

All credit cards from internationally recognized credit card companies – such as American Express, Eurocard/Mastercard, Diners Club, Visa and debit cards (Visa Electron, Mastercard) and third party credit cards or prepaid cards are acceptable
as payment methods. The payment method must have been issued in the name of the driver. This must be presented at the time of vehicle pick-up and be valid at this time.

Please note, that payments with credit card may require the PIN of the credit card.

An advance charge approval is obtained for the chosen means of payment as a security deposit. The exact security deposit amount is determined on collection since the amount is dependent on the vehicle .

The renter is possible to pay for the security deposit with debit card or cash upon agreement with the company.

Special rental information when booking – Prepaid rates.

Prepaid tariff – Pay now

When booking at a prepaid rate, the payment will be charged along with the total rental price (incl. booked extras and charges) prior to the rental. The driver and mode of payment shall be finalised at the time of reservation and cannot be changed.

A refund shall not be issued for non-collection, vehicle being collected late or returned early.

Changing the reservation

A booking can be changed up to 48 hours before the start of the rental (on availability) Any payment already made towards the rental will not be refunded; nor shall any differential amount be refunded if this alteration leads to a lesser rental cost.

Cancellation

A booking can be canceled 48 hours before the rental begins. In the event of cancellation, the payment in advance already made towards the rental shall be paid back subject to a cancellation charge, which will be withheld and shall be in the amount of the rental charge ( including any extras and charges) for a 3 rental days. no refund offers are excluded. No-show

In the event that the booked vehicle is not collected or not collected at the agreed time, the rental charge already paid shall be withheld in full.

During rental

Rental extension

The extension of the rental is possible with prior communication with the company and depends on availability.

Rental extension in cash-deposit rentals, without the presence of the customer is not possible unless an electronic payment is made.

Early return

If the rental vehicle is returned earlier than the agreed date , the customer does not receive any refund.

Late return

If the rental vehicle does not return at the agreed day and time without prior notice from the customer, the rental is void.

Delay in no case implies silent extension. There may be additional fees and charges.

Protection conditions

Third Party Insurance (TI)

Protection coverage for the vehicle rented includes Third Party Liability with a maximum cover of 1.220.000,00 EUR for material damages and 1.220.000,00 EUR for personal injuries. All Rentour’s vehicles are additionally insured for fire of the vehicle. mirrors & glasses are excluded

Excluded from the protection is the use of the vehicle for the transport of dangerous goods. All protection as part of the rental contract will become void, in particular, if an unauthorized driver has used the vehicle or if the driver of the vehicle does not possess the required driver’s license at the time of the event giving rise to claim.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)

Collision Damage Waiver removes the drivers responsibility to a part of the vehicle in case of damage, provided that traffic laws were not contravened ( violation of red light or STOP sign, illegal overtaking, driving under the influence of alcohol etc).

If CDW is accepted, customer is only responsible for the excess amount

Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW) – (FDW)

If CDW is already included in the rates, the renter can choose super CDW to reduce/eliminate the Non-Waiverable Responsibility, provided that traffic laws were not contravened (i.e. violation of red light or STOP sign, illegal overtaking, driving under the influence of alcohol etc.).

Under-carriage, car interior, mirror, lights and tire damages are excluded from CDW or SCDW protection. Such a protection can be purchased at the counter.

Theft Protection (TP)

Theft Protection removes the drivers responsibility to a part of the vehicle in case of theft.

Cross border rentals and territorial restrictions

Cross Border Rentals are not allowed.

Ferries between Greek islands are allowed only with prior written approval from Rentour

In case of offense against Cross Border & Territorial Restrictions all protections lose their validity.

Extras

Accessories are bookable without obligation and subject to availability..

Navigation system

Navigation systems are available subject to a fee.

Additional driver

A charge is levied for the additional driver, whose details are noted in the lease only if the additional driver presents a valid drivers license.

Baby and child seats

Baby seats, child seats and booster seats are available subject to a fee.

Vehicle refueling

All vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel and should be refilled prior to return, otherwise the current prices per liter of petrol or diesel will be charged in addition to a refueling fee.

If desired the vehicle will be refueled with the return to the station.

note: The refueling prices may be higher than the average gas station prices.

Delivery and collection

Deliveries and collections are available at the local rental station without a fee.

For Delivery/Collection Service to/from hotels please contact the rental station.

This service is available on request for an additional commitment fee outside opening times at selected locations.

Winter equipment

Snow chains are available subject to a fee.

Other Fees and Taxes

Out of opening hours

Out of opening hours service is available at selected stations. In this case, an additional charge applies for the provision of the service.

Accident Handling Fee

An Accident Handling Fee applies if a vehicle is damaged.

Administration Fee for Fine

The renter is liable for payment of all traffic/parking fines occurring during the rental.

In case the renter does not pay the fine/s and Rentour intervenes to the procedure, an administration fee will apply additionally to the fine’s cost.

Removal of license plates

In case of removing the license plate because of a traffic offense, the renter will be charged for the disuse of the vehicle.

Lost Of Key

A Lost Of Key Fee applies depending on the vehicle group.

Vehicle Cleaning

In case the car requires a special cleaning procedure (i.e. smell removal, animal pollution, spill of liquids etc.) after returning, a cleaning charge will apply.

V.A.T

The Value Added Tax is 24% in Greece and it is included in the prices.
